A long time ago, it was never a thought. A few years back, it was a wish. Now, it’s a
reality. With the help of Ludette Ruiz, private sector representative for Tourism of the RDC
(Regional Development Council), Region 8, Leyte, Philippines, the wish was granted.
Our Miss An Maglipayon 2010, Lucille Mae Pelayo Oandasan, daughter of Luz Pelayo-
Oandasan, found her way to the Pintados Kasadyaan Festival 2010. From Fresno,
California, she took the trip half-way around the world primarily for the ATASC medical
mission. But at the last minute, she readily accepted a request to be part of the Pintados-
Kasadyaan parade held in Tacloban City on June 27, 2010.
On the parade float, she was flanked to her right by her brother, Jeff, and the reigning Miss
Philippines-World.
